Lewis P. Bush, 90, of Avon Lake, passed away peacefully on Christmas day, 2020. Lew was born in Montclair, New Jersey, and graduated from Lehigh University School of Mines. He served his country in the United States Army and worked for International Salt Company for 40 years as a Mining Engineer and General Manager of the salt mine on Whiskey Island. His love of learning led him to earn his pilot's license and he got so much joy sharing that with others. Lew was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed automobile restoration. He took special pride in his 1937 Packard, as well as the wooden boats he restored. In retirement Lew spent many hours volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, past member of Rocky River Kiwanis, and past member of The Classic Car Club of NE Ohio. Lew is survived by his beloved wife, Eddie-Lou (nee Brownlee); children, Deborah White (Cooper), Peter (Debbie) and Betsy Segal (Robert); grandchildren, Sarah Mulligan (Tom), Lauren Garrard (Mike), Alex White (Sarah), Allie and Natalie Segal; and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Christine); brother-in-law of Elizabeth Sherk (John) and James Brownlee.
